Artist:Rahsaan Patterson
Song:Stop Breaking My Heart
Album:Wines & Spirits
Most music fans probably know that pop star Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson got her start on the 80s show Kids Incorporated. But the outstanding R & B singer songwriter Rahsaan Patterson was also on that show. This is the first single from his new CD. He was born Jan. 11, 1974 in Bronx, NY and yes, he was named after legendary jazz musician Rahsaan Roland Kirk. At age ten, his family moved to Los Angeles after he was cast on Kids Incorporated. After the show ended, he started working as a backup singer and wrote hits for Brandy (Baby) & Tevin Campbell (Back To The World). He signed with MCA Records and released his solo debut in 1997. Patterson wrote and produced the CD with Jamey Jaz & Keith Crouch. MCA dropped Patterson after his second CD was well received but ignored by the mainstream. Patterson's music is probably better suited to an adult oriented audience anyway. He started his own label Dome Records and acquired distribution from British R & B label Artistry Records. Wines & Spirits is his brand new CD and Patterson continues to work with Jamey Jaz & Keith Crouch. It's recommended to R & B fans. There's no video but Rahsaan Patterson has released an Electronic Press Kit in which he discusses his music with Lalah Hathaway and we get to see him in the studio with Jamey Jaz.
