Song:Struggle No More (The Main Event)

Album:Daddy's Little Girls

R & B singer songwriter Anthony Hamilton struggled through the 90s but he is now very successful. He was born Jan. 28, 1971 in Charlotte, NC. He started out singing in his church choir and moved to New York in 1993. He signed with Uptown Records and was to be labelmate with Mary J. Blige but the company went broke in 1995 and his CD was never released. Hamilton then signed with MCA but his 1996 CD XTC didn't sell. He signed with a new label Soulife. At this time, he started writing for others and sang backup for D'Angelo. When he returned from that tour, Soulife was out of business. He went back to session work and his big break came when he appeared with Nappy Roots on Po' Folks in 2002. Hamilton's appearance on the Grammys got him a contract with Jermaine Dupri's SoSo Def label. His 2003 CD Comin' From Where I'm Comin' From revealed Hamilton as a vocalist with a very earthy sound that will remind a lot of folks of Bill Withers or Bobby Womack. Struggle No More is from the soundtrack of the Tyler Perry film Daddy's Little Girls. It's probably the best track on the album and Jaheim & Musiq Soulchild appear because both were recent signees with Atlantic Records. Anthony Hamilton is scheduled to release his next CD Me in Feb. 2008. He's a tremendous singer and songwriter and here's the video for Struggle No More by Anthony Hamilton, Jaheim & Musiq Soulchild.
