AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Teada

Artist:Teada

Song:The League Reel/Peter Horan's/The Flannel Jacket

Album:Give Us a Penny and Let Us Be Gone

Teada became popular when they appeared on Irish TV in the early 00s. Though they are unknown outside Ireland, Irish folk fans should be familiar with some of the members. Teada's leader seems to be fiddler Oisin Mac Diamada. After winning the 1999 All Ireland Fiddle Championships, he formed Teada with guitarist Sean Mc Elwain and Tristan Rosenstock on bodhran and John Blake on flute. They released their 2003 debut album Teada and became popular after appearing on Irish TV. If you are a fan of traditional folk music, this is for you. The League Reel/Peter Horan's The Flannel Jacket is from the 2004 album Give Us a Penny and Let Us Be Gone. This was their second album. By this accordionist Paul Finn was added to the band. This album is available on CD. Flutist Damien Stenson replaced Blake for the 2006 album Yesterday Tomorrow. And Seamus Begley replaced accordionist Finn for the 2013 In Spite of the Storm. After a long hiatus, Teada released a new album in 2022 produced by Mac Diarmada's record company And they still perform regularly. As I said, Irish folk fans will dig the music as it is really energetic. Here's Teada performing The League Reel/Peter Horan's/The Flannel Jacket on Irish TV.
