AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Miguel

Artist:Miguel

Song:Do You...

Album:Kaleidoscope Dream

Singer songwriter Miguel Pimentel has had success mostly on the R&B charts. His 2012 album Kaleidoscope Dream is his most successful album to date. He was born Oct. 23, 1985 in Los Angeles. He grew up in San Pedro. He got into music in high school and signed with the production company Drop Squad in 2000. He signed with Black Ice Records in 2004. Pimentel was supposed to release his debut album in 2006. But the album was shelved and Pimentel left Black Ice. He signed with Mark Pitts and his label ByStorm Entertainment. He had a deal with Jive Records. While working on his album All I Want Is You, Black Ice sued Pimentel for breach of contract. This was eventually settled out of court. But in the meantime, Pimentel wrote songs for Usher and Musiq Soulchild. His album was finally released in 2010. But it went nowhere because Jive was sold to Sony. Pimentel was moved to RCA. He did get some good news as Pitts was named president of urban music at RCA. So Pimentel's 2012 album Kaleidoscope Dream got a really good promotion budget. The album was certified Platinum. The single Adorn was a top 20 pop hit. Do You.. would have done just as well except RCA was nervous about the drug references in the song. Pimentel wrote all the songs on the album with various producers. Do You... was written and produced with former Fugees producers Jerry "Wonda" DuPlessis and Arden Altino along with Paul Pesco who played guitar on the song. This album is available on CD. Pimentel's latest album was released in 2017 though he has released an EP recently. He sang Remember Me with Mexican singer Natalia Lafourcade in the Pixar film Coco. Here's the video for Do You... by Miguel.
