Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting reported that Luana Carolina suffered a back injury and is out of her scheduled fight against Wanan Yu at UFC on ESPN+ 15 Aug. 31 at Universiade Sports Center in Shenzhen, China. RealFight PH reported this morning that MIZUKI is replacing her. MIZUKI confirmed it on Twitter by signing her UFC bout agreement. MIZUKI is 24 years old from Japan but she's a veteran fighter. She debuted in 2010. Her record is 13-5. Most fans have seen her in Invicta. There has been talk about her going to the UFC for a few years. But losses at inopportune times scuttled that. And she was out for over a year with reconstructive knee surgery. Since returning, MIZUKI left Japan for New York City and she trains at Serra Longo in Long Island. In her only fight since training there, she beat former UFC fighter Viviane Pereira Nov. 2018. She was supposed to be in the Invicta Strawweight tournament but she missed weight. This will be her first fight at Flyweight. Obviously MIZUKI is more experienced than your typical late replacement. But she has fought once since moving to New York and she has never fought at Flyweight. She's big for a Strawweight so I think she will be OK. Yanan is 1-1 in the UFC but her loss was at Bantamweight. She looked good in her Flyweight debut. And of course she gets to fight at home. I have covered MIZUKI's entire career so I am glad to see her make it to the UFC.知ってる方もいるかもしれませんが、この度UFCの契約書にサインして8月31日の試合に出ることが決定致しました。日本から応援してくださるファンの方の為にもいいパフォーマンスが出来るように頑張ります。いつも応援ありがとうございます。 pic.twitter.com/gBuT3WYdUU

Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.
