British actor Peter Polycarpou is probably best known for playing Chris Theodopolopodous in the long running BBC sitcom Birds of a Feather. But he has a long history on the London stage. He was in the original productions of Les Miserables and Miss Saigon. Bui-Doi was his big number from Miss Saigon. He was born Mar. 31, 1957 in Brighton, England. His parents were Greek immigrants. He first appeared on the London stage in 1979 in all kinds of shows. But his first significant role was as Jean Prouvaire in the original 1985 production of Les Miserables. At the time he was also a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. In 1989 he played John in the original production of Miss Saigon. And he starred in the 1991 production of Phantom of the Opera. Polycarpou continues to appear regularly on the stage, most recently in Man of La Mancha with Kelsey Grammer. He starred in the BBC sitcom Birds of a Feather. And he was in the 2015 FX series Tyrant. Other than playing Louis B. Mayer in the 2004 film De-Lovely, he hasn't done many films. But he did appear in the 1996 film Evita. Along with his TV and theater work, Polycarpou is now getting into voice acting for video games. And he mentors young actors at the First Stages youth theater group.
