This match was first reported in August. But the UFC has just announced their 2019 first quarter schedule. So I can announce that Paige VanZant vs Rachel Ostovich has been added to UFC Fight Night 143 Jan. 19 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. This will be the first UFC show to air on ESPN+ in the US. It will still air on TSN in Canada. This match is at Flyweight and I expect it to air on the main card. These are two mediocre fighters known for sex appeal. Paige is 24 years old. She is 7-4 and she trains at Gracie Barra in Portland, OR with Chael Sonnen. She's 4-3 in the UFC. The last time we saw Paige she lost to Jessica-Rose Clark Jan. 2018 and she broke her arm. She had surgery when it didn't heal properly. For me she's more celebrity than fighter. I've watched her since her Invicta days and she hasn't improved at all. But she's popular because of sex appeal. So is Rachel. She's 27 years old from Hawaii. Her record is 4-4 and 1-1 in the UFC. I thought she was awful in Invicta. That she made the UFC shows that sex appeal is important in women's MMA. So I guess this could be called Battle of the Babes. But they aren't good fighters.Brooklyn, we got our first fight!

Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Your right Frank. It's strictly about sex appeal. To bad, at this point in my life I would much rather see two highly skilled tough women fight in the cage than two "Babes" who are there because of their looks. Well, there will be other women fighters who will fight hard and be there because of skill and not looks. Thanks Frank for posting this. David.
