Kenny Chesney scored one of his biggest hits with When The Sun Goes Down in 2004. The album and tour were a tribute to one of Chesney's heroes Jimmy Buffett. Uncle Kracker was also popular at the time. He scored a top ten hit with his 2003 cover of the Dobie Gray classic Drift Away. The two became friends after recording When The Sun Goes Down and Kracker joined Chesney's tour. When The Sun Goes Down was written by Brett James. He recorded an unsuccessful album in 1995. He has written plenty of songs for others. The steel drum solo is by veteran session musician Tom Roady. He is a member of the Brentwood Jazz Orchestra. Chesney has recorded some other duets but this one was his biggest hit duet. And it got Uncle Kracker an in to the country market. This record topped the country charts so it's his biggest hit.
