Temptation was the only big hit for Corina Katt Ayala in 1991. She only recorded one album and then turned to acting. Corina grew up in New York's Spanish Harlem to Puerto Rican parents. She had formal training in ballet, voice and theater. Her big break in the music business came in 1987 when she signed with the dance music label Cutting Records owned by Aldo and Amado Marin. Corina released a few singles and when Temptation got some radio play, Cutting licensed it to Atco Records and an album was released in 1991. Temptation reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. The record was produced by Carlos "After Dark" Berrios. He was a DJ best known as one half of the remix duo The Hit Squad. He produced some of Corina's previous recordings. This is Corina's only album to date. You can get Temptation on this various artists comp. Corina has recorded occasionally. Her 1997 single Summertime Summertime from So So Def Bass All Stars Vol. 2 did well on the dance chart. Corina turned to acting. She starred in the 1990 film East Side story with Marc Anthony. She also played Frida Kahlo in Tim Robbins' 1999 film Cradle Will Rock. She also starred in the 2013 sitcom Latin In America. It looks like it only ran one season.
