SHOOT BOXING announced today that RENA's opponent for the Sept. 10 Korakuen Hall show is US MMA fighter Jessica Penne. Jessica's MMA record is 8-1. She trains at REIGN MMA in Santa Monica, CA. Fans may recall seeing her lose to Zoila Gurgel in the first round of last year's Bellator 115lb tournament. The problem was Jessica normally fights at 105lb and of course Zoila came down from 125. It was a terrible fight. It was like three rounds of dancing. Jessica bounced back and won over Amy Davis on the Nov. 19 The Cage Inc. show in Hankinson, SD. RENA normally fights at 52kg so I think Jessica may be at a bit of size disadvantage. Not to mention that she's not familiar with the SHOOT BOXING rules. She admitted that in the press release but she also said she is interested in next year's S-Girls Cup. And I wonder if she knows that she's being used as RENA's tuneup for her Nov. 23 match with Teen kickboxing champ Erika Kamimura. JEWELS matchmaker Shigeru Saeki might want to check Jessica out for a future appearance in JEWELS. Jessica's unfamiliarity with the SHOOT BOXING rules could be her downfall in this match.
