Here's the match video of Hikaru Shida defending her AEW Women's Championship against Anna Jay from last night's episode of AEW Dynamite. First of all, this should have been a non title match. Tony Khan's flawed logic is that Anna had her debut match against Hikaru on a 2020 episode of AEW Dark. Their logic is "See how much Anna has improved in three years" except Anna is not an athlete so she still isn't very good. Then they announced that this will be a qualifier for a four way title match at All In at Wembley Stadium on Aug. 27. Toni Storm has been given a bye as a title rematch. The other two matches are Saraya vs Skye Blue and Britt Baker vs The Bunny. So all three matches should be squashes. So why did Khan give Anna so much offense in this match? It's because it's the main event of the show when it probably shouldn't have been there. Plus most of Anna's offense was during the commercial break. To Hikaru's credit, she really tries to sell Anna's offense. But Anna just isn't any good. Of course Hikaru wins. We'll see what kind of idiotic swerve happens at All In. Enjoy the video!
