Corey Kent was a contestant on the 2016 season of The Voice. Since then he has broken through in the country market with the 2022 single Wild as Her and he could crossover to pop. He's on a major label and is working with one of Nashville's top producers. He was born Corey Kent White June 21, 1994 in Bixby, OK. He was a big Garth Brooks fan. At age 11, he started touring with a Western Swing band for five years. After he graduated from high school, Kent moved to Nashville. When that didn't work out, he moved back to Oklahoma and wrote songs while attending Oklahoma State University. He released a 2014 EP independently. That's when he got the call to appear on the 2016 season of The Voice. Though he didn't win, the exposure generated interest in a 2016 EP. He also started calling himself Corey Kent. He signed with producer Chris Farren's company Combustion Music and released the 2021 album '21. Farren has produced acts like Deana Carter and Boy Howdy. The album got Kent a deal with RCA Records. After the single Wild as Her reached #3 on the Country Airplay chart and #40 on the Billboard Hot 100, the album Blacktop was released in June 2023. Wild as Her was written by country music star Morgan Wallen, Brett Tyler and Kelly Archer. It was first recorded by Canadian country singer Tyler Joe Miller. Wallen did not record it.
