Artist:Rosa Linn
Song:Snap
Album:Now That's What I Call Eurovision Song Contest
The 2022 single Snap became a hit across Europe after Rosa Linn sang it in the Eurovision Song Contest and then it went viral on Tik Tok. Now she is signed to Columbia Records. She was born Roza Kostandyan May 20, 2000 in Vanadzor, Armenia. She started playing piano at age six and began songwriting as a teen. On 2013 her song Gitem was the Armenian selection in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Rosa signed with Nvak Collective which is owned by Armenians who live in the US. They released the single King which was a duet with Kiiara. Rosa performed it on Armenian TV. Then Rosa was chosen to represent Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy. Eurovision is a big deal in Europe but not in North America. My buddy David Friend of Canadian Press covers it but I don't pay much attention to it. I'm interested in new Blue Note Records releases. The single Snap and the video was released in March. Rosa sang it a couple of times on the Eurovision show in May and finished 20th. Then it went viral on Tik Tok and it was a top ten hit across Europe. So though the Eurovision judges didn't like the song, European music fans liked to sing along to the chorus. Rosa wrote and produced the song with Nvak Collective co-owner Tamar Kaprelian and others. You can get it on this Eurovision various artists comp. After Snap was a hit, Columbia signed Rosa though the song didn't do that well in North America. Since then Rosa performed Snap on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Columbia released an EP earlier this year. Could Rosa Linn be a fluke? Of course because Tik Tok made Snap a hit. Time will tell. Here's the video for Snap by Rosa Linn.
