Artist:Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois King
Song:She's Too Busy
Album:My Heart's In Texas

Blues guitarist Smokin' Joe Kubek started out as a sideman in the 70s. He met singer and guitarist Bnois King in the 80s and they have toured together for the last twenty years. The live CD My Heart's In Texas was released in 2006. Kubek was born Nov. 30, 1956 in Grove City, PA and grew up in Dallas. He started out in the 70s with blues legend Freddie King. Kubek went solo in the 80s and then met Bnois King. King was born Jan. 21, 1943 in Delhi, LA. He learned to play guitar as a child and wanted to play jazz. He moved to Texas in the 70s. King met Kubek in the early 80s but they didn't start working together until 1988. They found that King is a really good singer and gets a good response from the audience. So he does most of the singing. They signed with Bullseye Blues and their debut CD Steppin' Out Texas Style was released in 1991. They released eight CDs for Bullseye but Bullseye went out of business and Kubek moved to Blind Pig in 2003. She's Too Busy is from the 2006 live CD My Heart's In Texas. It is also available on DVD. After two albums for Blind Pig, they recorded two albums for Alligator. They now record for Delta Groove Productions. Their latest CD Road Dog's Life was released Sept. 2013. Kubek & King are a lot of fun to listen to and blues fans should check them out. Here's Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois King with John Morris on bass and Adrian Marchine on drums performing She's Too Busy at J&J Blues Bar in Fort Worth, TX 2005. This is from the My Heart's In Texas DVD.
