Kanagawa newspaper Kanaroko reports that 34 year old unemployed Naoki Kobayashi of Osaka has been arrested for threatening 26 year old Moeka Haruhi of Pro Wrestling WAVE. Haruhi has been a pro wrestler since 2005. She trained at K-Dojo briefly and then Ice Ribbon forerunner GTKN. She quit the joshi business in 2007 but returned to WAVE in 2008 and still works there. She's a typical idol wrestler sold mostly for her looks. Personally, I don't think she's attractive. Different strokes for different folks. I don't think she's much of a wrestler. I saw her in her GTKN days and she's way too thin to be a credible pro wrestler and she's not an athlete. She was a model before she took up wrestling. And I don't think she's improved much recently. A lot of Haruhi's fanbase is built on her interest in anime. Her entrance music is from Dragon Quest and she wears anime themed outfits. Apparently this suspect was a member of Haruhi's fan club. He met her at a meet and greet fan event in Nov. 2009 and demanded to touch her breasts, not that there's much there. Of course she refused. Since then, he has sent her over 500 emails with messages like "I won't forgive you, I have to kill you" and "I want to kill you". Charming. Then he took it farther. In an interview with RINGSTARS, Haruhi says that he started a blog and continued to threaten her publicly on the blog and on Twitter. And he threatened to come to shows and kill her. He also sent emails of his threats to city officials. As a result, Haruhi got police protection. The police began their investigation in January and Kobayashi was arrested when he came to an Apr. 1 WAVE show at Shinjuku FACE. Looks like he could be headed for a rubber room. I don't think it's a result of selling sex in joshi puroresu. I just think the guy is a lunatic.
