LaRosa vs Modafferi Nov. 8

The American Fight League announced today that they have loaned out top female MMA fighters Tara LaRosa & Roxanne Modafferi for a Nov. 8 show at the UIC Pavillion in Chicago. Supposedly this is part of their Affiliate Promoters Program. The promotion is Ironheart Crown and they've been around since 1999. They are the North American affiliate for Shooto. The show is called Ironheart Crown XII: Resurrection. This should be a great fight between two of the top female fighters in the world today. Tara LaRosa is 15-1 and is a former Bodog champ. Her last fight was a win over Cody Whelchin at the Nov. 24 Hook 'N' Shoot show. Roxanne Modafferi has lived in Japan for several years. Her record is 12-4 and her last fight was a win over Vanessa Porto at the Apr. 3 Fatal Femmes Fighting show. She also won the K-GRACE tournament in Tokyo in May 2007. Though I think it's great that these two are going to put on a great show, it's a waste to put a PPV quality match on a show that doesn't look like it will even be on TV. This is especially true when you consider LaRosa is under a hefty AFL contract. And whatever happened to the AFL PPV originally scheduled for October. Guess what? It's not happening in November either or they wouldn't be loaning out their premiere fighters. This doesn't answer any questions about the AFL. All it does is raise more questions and fuel skeptics like me. I hope I get to see this fight but it just seems like a waste of a good fight.

Frank, Defshepard here again. I agree with you it does eem like a waste of a good fight. I really have to wonder about the AFL at this point. Still, it ought to be a good fight betwen these two women. Both are top female fighters. I have to believe that Tara Larosa will win, but not easily.
