Miesha Tate's next fight on Nov. 29

Miesha Tate announced today that she has scheduled her next fight for Nov. 29 at the Emerald Queen Casino in her hometown of Tacoma, WA against Theresa Doerksen. Miesha's record is 2-1 but she made a big splash when she won over veteran fighter Elaina Maxwell on the June 27 Strikeforce show in San Jose. Miesha had expected to return to Strikeforce on last week's Playboy Mansion show but for unknown reasons Strikeforce didn't want any womens bouts on the show. She says they expressed a lot of interest in her but doesn't know what happened after that. So she's not waiting around and is taking this fight for an independent promotion in Tacoma. She is hoping to catch on with EliteXC. Theresa Doerksen is a boxer from Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. She made her MMA debut with a TKO win over Jenna King on the Apr. 5 Legacy Fighting Championship show in Calgary. We're seeing a lot of boxers coming to MMA because MMA is where the money is. Obviously Doerksen's strength is her striking but Tate is a ground specialist so it could be interesting.

Frank, Defshepard here again. I am so glad Miesha Tate is not waiting around for EliteXC. I am glad tos ee her fighting so soon. This match up sounds like a good one. A Striker against a ground specialist. These matchup are always interesting and exciting. I hope I can see the video of this one. Miesha is rapidly becoming a favorite of mine.
