It was June 2007 when Ayumi Kurihara suffered a shoulder injury on the NEO Hokkaido tour. Other than an appearance on Michiko Ohmukai's retirement show in December, she has been out ever since. Of course she's made appearances and writes a column on the Lady's Ring website but I don't think anyone thought she would be out this long. It was announced today that Kurihara will return to the ring on Dec. 14 at Shinjuku FACE. The interesting thing is it appears that Ayumi and her parents are promoting the show as opposed to working with an established promoter. Well, we know who's catering it because Ayumi's parents own the Three Treasures Roast Meat Shop. And on Sept. 14, Ayumi Kurihara will have an autograph session at her parents store to kick off ticket sales. So what's Ayumi been up to lately? Along with Toshie Uematsu & KAORU, she appeared for THE RING. This is the company that combines pro wrestling, theater & dancing. Uematsu has appeared there a lot lately. And here's a recent interview with Ayumi Kurihara, Toshie Uematsu & KAORU promoting THE RING with a brief ring appearance by Kurihara. It's great to see Ayumi returning completely healthy.
