Sunny Ledfurd is the stage name of Jonathan Bakalli. They were once a band and when it split up, Bakalli kept the Sunny Ledfurd name. I guess the best way to describe his music is politically incorrect country about hard partying. Record companies have attempted to market him but have been unsuccessful. So now Ledfurd has his own record company. Bakalli was born in Chatanooga, TN and grew up in Gaston County, NC. He played guitar as a teen. One of his main influences is legendary outlaw country singer David Allan Coe. He formed Sunny Ledfurd in high school. Like Lynyrd Skynyrd, the name is a gag spelling of a friend's name. The band released a CD independently and it did well enough to get them a deal at MCA Records. But the 2001 CD The White Disk did poorly and the band split up. Bakalli kept the Sunny Ledfurd name and started his own label. And he has been releasing his own CDs since then. Occasionally he has licensed his music to record companies which is what he did with this Greatest Hits CD. It was licensed to Average Joe's Entertainment which is also the home for country rapper Colt Ford. Sunny Ledfurd would appeal to a similar audience. It's available as a budget CD and it's a good intro to Bakalli's music. He continues to release CDs and DVDs on his own label and he tours regularly. So obviously Sunny Ledfurd has a following.
