This video is from a 2004 Donnie McClurkin live CD/DVD but it's actually a very significant event in the musical career of gospel singer Joann Rosario. I've talked about Joann before. She's a fabulous gospel artist of latino and black heritage and came to prominence as a member of Fred Hammond's Radical For Christ. After her success with the 2002 CD More, More, More, she started to have trouble with her voice and nodules were found on her vocal cords. So she was unable to sing and it could have ended Joann's singing career. This video was done in 2004 so the timing indicates that this may have been one of Joann's first appearances since being diagnosed with the problem with her vocal cords. If so, then Joann passed with flying colours. The CD/DVD was taped at McClurkin's Perfecting Praise Church in New York and other than Saciame Senor features Donnie and his family. He even had a big hit with the old Five Stairsteps song Ooh Child. Joann not only gives a masterful vocal performance but wrote Saciame Senor. Her comeback was complete. Joann Rosario's most recent CD was Joyous Salvation in 2007 but I noticed that Verity released a comp called Praise & Worship in 2008. That's an indication that she might be leaving Verity but I don't know that for sure. Donnie McClurkin has a new CD Live In Detroit coming soon. Here's Joann Rosario performing Saciame Senor from the Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs DVD and you'll notice it's the complete version with Donnie joining in at the end of the song.
