Horace Silver is a jazz pianist who started back in the 50s with Art Blakey. He started his own band and has started many musicians in the business over the years including drummer Billy Cobham, sax player Joe Henderson & Mike & Randy Brecker. The Hard Bop Grandpop continues to make great music today. This is from a various artists collection and would be a good introduction to the Blue Note sound.
