Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Karolina Kowalkiewicz vs Alexa Grasso added to June 8 UFC show
The UFC announced today that Karolina Kowalkiewicz vs Alexa Grasso has been added to UFC 238 June 8 at the United Center in Chicago. This fight will be at Strawweight. I would describe both fighters as overrated points fighters. The big difference is that Karolina has been around the UFC longer and she once beat the current champ Rose Namajunas and that got her a title shot. She is 33 years old from Lodz, Poland. Her record is 12-4 and 5-4 in the UFC. She just lost to Michelle Waterson on Mar. 30. So it's a very quick turnaround. Karolina is on a two fight losing streak. Alexa is 25 years old from Mexico. Her record is 10-2 and 3-2 in the UFC. The last time we saw her she was submitted in round one by Tatiana Suarez May 2018. Since then injuries have forced three scheduled fights to be cancelled. And she had injury problems back in her Invicta days. The interest in Alexa is because she is young, attractive and Mexico is an emerging UFC market. So she tends to get overrated because fans want her to be good. Neither fighter is a finisher. Both are strikers with no power or ground game. So I am expecting three rounds of light sparring with a possible split decision. And I will be very grumpy while I watch this fight. One possible explanation for Karolina taking a quick fight is she announced plans to start a family and she may be looking to retire.
