Here's the match video of Sonya Deville vs Io Shirai from WWE Worlds Collide. This show was taped during Wrestlemania week for the WWE Network. The idea was to have matches with wrestlers from all the different brands that we wouldn't normally see. So you have Sonya from Smackdown vs Io from NXT. There is no storyline significance so it's meaningless content for the network. I have no problem with Sonya winning except most fans won't see it because they don't have the network and more fans than you think don't watch these kind of shows. Did you know the WWE still produces WWE Main Event? No one watches it or cares about it. It's the same with this show. If the WWE really wanted to get Sonya over, they need to stop having Corey Graves fawn over Mandy Rose and give Sonya some love. They have already teased the two will split and they will probably have to get Sonya away from Mandy to get her over. Because the fawning will continue. It's similar to when Sasha Banks was constantly losing to Charlotte Flair. They had to move Sasha for her own good. So this match should not have been booked in the first place. Save it for later when it means something. Of course Sonya gets way too much offense in mostly mauling Io in a body scissors. Like all the joshi wrestlers, Io is great at selling offense. Io turns things around when Sonya misses an enziguri. But she takes too long to get to the top rope for her moonsault. After missing, Sonya hits a spear and gets the win. You'll notice that Mia Yim is on commentary complaining about MMA fighters invading the NXT women's locker room. In case you didn't know, Mia shares a house with Shayna Baszler and Jessamyn Duke so obviously she doesn't really believe that. There is nothing wrong with the match except for pointless and thoughtless booking. Enjoy the video!
