AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Sting

Artist:Sting f/Bruce Springsteen
Song:Every Breath You Take
Album:Released: The Human Rights Concerts: 1988 Human Rights Now

So of course we are all familiar with Sting as lead singer of The Police and he has been a successful solo artist since the 80s. Here he is performing one of his Police hits with Bruce Springsteen. When did this happen? Amnesty International started doing Human Rights Now tours in 1986. Sting and Springsteen were on the 1988 tour along with Peter Gabriel, Tracy Chapman and Youssou N'Dour. The tour ran for six weeks beginning on Sept. 2, 1988. It was a worldwide tour that began in London and ended in Buenos Aires on Oct. 15. The video and the recordings are from Buenos Aires. There were special guests in each show. On this show it was Argentine artists Leon Gieco and Charly Garcia. They don't appear on the CD. Each artist performed a set. N'Dour and Gabriel did a song together. Springsteen joined Sting for Every Breath You Take and then Sting joined Springsteen for The River. Then everybody came out and ended the show. This concert is available as a digital download from Shout! Factory. But it's not complete. Tracy Chapman doesn't appear on this version though her name is on the cover. Every Breath You Take also appears on a 2CD comp of all the Human Rights Now concerts. And it's on a 6DVD box set. Take your pick. From what I can tell, this tour was the only time Sting and Springsteen appeared together. I guess that makes it a must for fans of both. Here's Sting featuring Bruce Springsteen performing Every Breath You Take on Human Rights Now in Buenos Aires, Argentina Oct. 15, 1988.
