Here's the fight video of Erin Blanchfield vs Rose Namajunas from last night's UFC show in Edmonton. This fight is at Flyweight. This is a five round co-main event. Erin is 25 years old. She trains at MK Muay Thai in Fair Lawn, NJ. Her UFC record is 6-1 and that loss was to Manon Fiorot. Rose is 32 years old. She trains with her husband Pat Barry in Denver. Her UFC record is 11-5. She's a former UFC Strawweight Champion. She has moved up to Flyweight. She's on a two fight winning streak but she also lost to Manon Fiorot. So this fight is not for a Flyweight title shot. Manon will get that. I guess the winner of this would challenge the winner of that fight. I think if Erin can take Rose down, she could finish her. But the first two rounds don't go her way. Rose is able to keep the fight standing and land more effective strikes. So I am not crazy about Erin giving the first two rounds away and then sweep the last three. But she wins rounds three and five. Round four was a tossup but I scored it for Rose. So I scored the fight 48-47 for Rose. All three judges scored the fight 48-47 for Erin. So they all scored round four for Erin. Again, I thought the round was very close and could have gone either way. So I was expecting a split decision. I am OK with Erin winning by unanimous decision. It was not a good fight. Erin needed to get off to a better start. She knows she isn't getting a title shot. So she wants to face Alexa Grasso. Enjoy the video!
