Baillie & the Boys had a successful run on the country charts in the late 80s. They had seven top ten country hits. The 1989 single Heart of Stone was the highest charting of those hits. Baillie & the Boys are from New Jersey. Alan LeBoeuf and Michael Bonagura had a band called London Fog. After hearing her sing, Bonagura married Kathie Baillie and the trio became Baillie & the Boys. They moved to Nashville and were backup singers until RCA Records signed them in 1987. Their three RCA albums were produced by Kyle Lehning who was best known for producing Randy Travis. They scored seven top ten country hits. Heart of Stone was their highest charting single at #4 on the Country Singles chart. Though the trio wrote, Heart of Stone was written by veteran songwriters Wayland Holyfield and Richard Leigh. LeBoeuf left (he didn't like touring) and Lance Hoppen of Orleans appeared on the 1990 album The Lights of Home. That was Baillie & the Boys' final album for RCA. Their contract was up and they left. RCA released this comp in 1991. Since They have recorded for small labels with their 2018 CD I Will Run on their own label. Bonagura produced so I guess control is what he wanted. Here's the video for (Wish I Had A) Heart of Stone by Baillie & the Boys.
