Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Gina Carano in Strikeforce?
After two months of behind the scenes wrangling, Strikeforce owner Scott Coker announced today that he has acquired the assets of EliteXC. This includes the TV deal with CBS and Showtime. Their first show under this deal will be Apr. 11 on Showtime and Frank Shamrock will be in the main event. Apparently the deal was first made in early December but it kept falling apart and coming back together again. I'm sure CBS had a lot to do with the deal going in this direction. Coker told Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer & Yahoo Sports that the deal will also include selected fighter contracts. I guess it depends which fighters Coker wants but the bottom line for readers of this blog is that Gina Carano is one of those fighters. Gina worked for Strikeforce before she signed with EliteXC. Coker said that Gina is eager to fight Cristiane Cyborg but he's not sure yet when he will do that fight. My guess is he will do it on CBS as opposed to Showtime. That's what I would do. It makes sense to put Gina on CBS. Of course women's MMA fans are all hopeful that Coker wants to keep some of the other EliteXC women fighters like Rosi Sexton, Debi Purcell, Marloes Coenen, Sarah Kaufman and others.
