AccuRadio Song Of The Day-William E.

Artist:William E.
Song:Lazy Life
Album:Picadilly Sunshine Part Nine

This is an obscure 1967 single that in England is considered to be a lost psychedelic classic. It was the only single released by William E. He was born William Boardman June 6, 1940 in South Africa. He usually recorded as Bill Kimber or Billy Forrest. He led the mid-60s band Bill Kimber and the Couriers in South Africa. At some point it looks like Boardman moved to England. Lazy Life was released in 1967 by Polydor. It got enough radio airplay in England that today it is considered to be a lost psychedelic classic. You can get it on this various artists CD that is part of a ten CD box set from psychedelic reissue label Particle Records. Lazy Life was written by Gordon Haskell. He also played keyboards on the record. He would go on to be a member of King Crimson on the album Lizard. He has had a lengthy solo career in England. The other musicians are Bryn Haworth on guitar and Keith Guster on drums. Those two were in a couple of bands together. Haworth is a session musician who started recording as a leader in the 70s. It's a pretty good song. This is the only time Boardman used the William E. name. I assume he used it to not be confused with his other pseudonyms. In South Africa, Boardman released Lazy Life under the name Quentin E. Klopjaeger. He's still seems to be around but he had most of his success in South Africa in the 60s as Billy Forrest. Here's a video for Lazy Life by William E.
