Guordan Banks topped the Adult R&B charts in 2016 with Keep You In Mind. You may have heard it on season one of the HBO series Insecure. Banks is mainly a songwriter but he records on his own label. He was born Dec. 21, 1987 in Philadelphia. His first name is pronounced "Jordan". His parents are preachers so not surprisingly he grew up singing in church. He was planning to go to law school but he decided to pursue music instead. John Legend has been a big influence and Banks has written songs for Legend, Keyshia Cole and others. He released a mixtape in 2014 on rapper Meek Mill's Dream Chasers label. He has worked on some of Meek Mill's albums. Keep You In Mind is from Banks' debut album Insecure released on his own label. Banks wrote and produced the song with K Roosevelt (Kevin Moore). Raphael Saadiq heard the song and picked it up for season one of Issa Rae's HBO series Insecure. That soundtrack album and also Banks' album are available as digital downloads. Keep You In Mind topped the Adult R&B chart. Since then Banks lost 70 pounds. So he now looks different than how he looks in this video. He says he did this because his father died when Banks was 16 and his family has a history of diabetes.
