Song:Stealing Cinderella
Album:Starting Now
Chuck Wicks scored a top five country hit with his 2007 debut single Stealing Cinderella. Since then his career has taken some twists and turns. Fortunately he has had success as a songwriter. He was born June 20, !979 in Smyrna, DE. He grew up on a potato farm. He moved to Nashville in 2002 and signed with RCA in 2006. He was also in the cast of the Fox reality series Nashville. The show was canceled after two episodes. It was supposed to chronicle the lives of aspiring Nashville singers. Jamey Johnson was the best known member of the cast. Meanwhile Wicks recorded his debut album Starting Now produced by veteran session musicians Dann Huff and Monty Powell. Stealing Cinderella was the first single. It reached #5 on the Country Singles chart. Wicks wrote the song with veteran songwriters Rivers Rutherford and George Teren. Wicks co-wrote most of the songs on the album. While he started work on his second album, Wicks appeared on the 2009 season of Dancing With The Stars with Julianne Hough. They dated for a few months. After RCA released a couple of singles from Wicks' upcoming album, they decided to cancel the album and release Wicks. He was in good company as Alan Jackson and Martina McBride were among those released at the time. Fortunately Jason Aldean recorded one of Wicks' songs. He self released a 2013 EP. Then Wicks signed with Blaster Records. An album was released in 2016. A new single was recently released so it looks like he is working on a new album. He is also a co-host of the Nash FM radio show America's Morning Show. I think Wicks is a bland performer. He might be better off sticking to songwriting. Here's the video for Stealing Cinderella by Chuck Wicks.
