Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Paige VanZant vs Jessica Eye added to Oct. 6 UFC show
We have two matches to discuss for UFC 216 Oct. 6 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Damon Martin of Flo Combat reports that Paige VanZant vs Jessica Eye has been added. This will be at Flyweight. And out of Brazil, there are reports that Pearl Gonzalez vs Poliana Botelho has been added. That will be at Strawweight. I expect Paige vs Jessica to be on the main card. This will be Paige's first fight at Flyweight. I think she's a little small for 125 but maybe she doesn't want to cut much weight. Or maybe she doesn't think there will be much competition at Flyweight. In her last fight, Paige was choked out by Michelle Waterson. So she left Team Alpha Male for Gracie Barra in Portland, OR. She's now training with Chael Sonnen. It remains to be seen if the change will yield positive results for Paige. She needs to raise her skill level if she wants to be taken seriously as a fighter. Recently Jessica was supposed to fight Aspen Ladd but Aspen got sick. The plan was for Jessica to move to Flyweight. She fought mostly at Flyweight before she came to the UFC. She's on a four fight losing streak and if she loses she may be on the chopping block. Paige is more celeb than fighter so it could be a close fight. I expect Pearl vs Poliana to air on the UFC Fight Pass prelims. Pearl lost her UFC debut to Cynthia Calvillo. There was some pre-match nonsense about her boob implants raised by the New York AC and that may have rattled her. BTW, the AC was out of line and unprofessional. Poliana trains at Nova Uniao in Brazil. She is a former XFC champ. She was supposed to fight Valerie Letourneau at UFC 206 but she dropped out due to injury. Her record is 5-1 and all her wins were by TKO. So I guess we'll find out if she can punch.
