Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Felice Herrig vs Cortney Casey added to Dec. 2 UFC show
This afternoon Felice Herrig announced on Instagram that she will face Cortney Casey at UFC 218 Dec. 2 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. I expect this to air on the main card. The winner of this fight could potentially be a title contender. If you had told me two years ago that Felice could get a Strawweight title shot, I would have laughed. At one time Felice was one of the best self promoters in MMA. But she was mainly a kickboxer with no ground game. After she lost to Paige VanZant in 2015, Felice took a break to get her head together and work on her ground game. She returned to Jeff Curran's dojo in Schaumberg, IL. She trained with him before and then left. But she has always had success with him. She just clicks with him. Since then Felice has won three straight fights. The one that got everyone's attention was her win over Alexa Grasso who was undefeated at the time. Meanwhile Cortney got the biggest win of her career over veteran Jessica Aguilar in May. Before that she had mixed success. So the UFC wants to find out if she's for real. After Felice beat Justine Kish in her last fight, she said she wanted better competition. That's what she's getting. Cortney's record is 7-4. But she earned this with the win over Aguilar. I think it's fair to say that it was an upset. Cortney is from Hawaii and she trains with her husband Eduardo Sanchez and UFC fighter Jon Tuck. This fight could be a good one.
