Randy Montana had brief success on the country music charts with Ain't Much Left Of Lovin' You. he seems to have turned to songwriting which runs in the family. He was born Randy Schlappi Sept. 23, 1985 in Albany, NY. His father is songwriter Billy Montana. Billy recorded for Warner Bros. in the 80s. When that didn't pan out, he turned to songwriting. Billy Montana has written number one country hits for Jo Dee Messina, Sara Evans and Garth Brooks. Randy moved to Nashville with his family in 1988. He had a band while attending Middle Tennessee University. He got a publishing deal with Sony in 2008. And this led to a record deal with Mercury and the 2010 album Randy Montana. Ain't Much Left Of Lovin' You was his debut single and it reached #36 on the Country Singles chart. The album was never released on CD. It is only available as a digital download. Randy wrote all the songs on the album. He toured with Lady Antebellum. But then he left Mercury. Randy released an EP Put Me In A Box in 2014 on his own label. Now it looks like he has turned to songwriting. His recent credits include the TV series Nashville, George Strait and Parmalee. According to his Twitter, Randy Montana still participates in Nashville Songwriters Night shows. But he seems to have given up on recording and has turned to songwriting full time. Just like his dad. Randy is married to retired NASCAR racer Kyle Petty's daughter Montgomery Lee. They have two kids. Here's the video for Ain't Much Left Of Lovin' You by Randy Montana.
