The WWE shuffles the Diva deck

I don't normally write about the WWE Divas on the blog because the booking tends to be boring. But they shuffled a lot of bodies around on last night's RAW and fans have asked me about it. If you missed last night's show, Jillian Hall won the WWE Divas Title from Mickie James with her feet on the ropes. Jillian's reaction to the win was hilarious but something was up. Guest host Nancy O'Dell came out and said she completed a Diva trade resulting in Melina coming to RAW and she gets an instant title match. Melina proceeds to botch her finisher but wins the title anyway. The rest of the movement was revealed after the show. Beth Phoenix & Mickie James go to Smackdown. Eve Torres and The Bella Twins go to RAW. Rosa Mendes goes to ECW. The trigger for these changes is that Maryse is ready to return from her knee injury. And though Maryse isn't much of a wrestler, it's obvious the WWE believes she is a star. It's also obvious that Mickie James has become increasingly frustrated working with greenhorns. She's been on RAW for a long time. A change could be good for her. Beth wasn't being used properly on RAW so a change might be good for her too. Obviously WWE management likes Melina. They like the pop she gets for her entrance and they like the scream. She's very average in the ring but seems to work well with the models. So she might be more capable of putting on decent matches with them than either Mickie or Beth. I don't care much for her and really don't like her as a babyface. But they like her. The other moves don't mean much. It seems like pointless body shuffling. But I wouldn't mind seeing Mickie turn heel or Beth turn face. Next week things will be back to the usual pointless random booking.
