SHOOTO announced on their blog today that they have added a women's match to their Aug. 9 at Fujimi Citizens Lyceum in Fujimi City. Both are experienced kickboxers so I don't expect this to go to the ground. The match is scheduled for two five minute rounds in the Flyweight division (probably 125lbs). It will be WINDY Tomomi (pictured) vs Jet Izumi. WINDY's MMA record is 12-10 and her last fight was a loss to Kyoko Takabayashi at the Apr. 25 VALKYRIE show. Izumi's MMA record is 5-5 but she has concentrated on kickboxing for the last several years. She's been very active in that area but her last MMA bout was a loss to Yumi Matsumoto on the Apr. 30, 2005 SMACKGIRL show. Certainly a KO finish is possible for this match.
