Paul Tracy to run five NASCAR Busch races

Player Management International has announced that Toronto native and former CART champ Paul Tracy has signed to run five NASCAR Busch series races in 2006. He will drive the #34 Chevy owned by Frank Cicci and former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly.

Tracy will debut at the Daytona Busch race and then run in Mexico City (March 5), Las Vegas (March 11), Indianapolis (Aug. 5) & California (Sept. 11). The primary sponsor will be Sport Clips haircutting with American Crew men's grooming as associate sponsor.

Tracy has been trying to break into NASCAR for the last year. He tested a Chevy for Richard Childress in Michigan last summer but wasn't able to get sponsorship. Tracy has said that he is looking to run NASCAR full time in 2007. He would like to get into Nextel Cup but many in the NASCAR garage told him he needs to prove himself in the Busch Series first. This is good news for Canadian NASCAR fans as a Canadian driver in NASCAR will force the Canadian media, especially TSN, to cover NASCAR better. Here's a link to the announcement at PMI which includes a picture of Tracy with his new ride. Best of luck to Paul Tracy.
