Here's the fight video of Karine Silva vs Maryna Moroz from last night's UFC show in Boston. This fight is at Flyweight. Karine is 29 years old from Curitiba, Brazil. She trains with Gile Ribeiro. Karine is 3-0 in the UFC with all three wins by submission. So I expected a similar finish. Maryna is 31 years old from the Ukraine but she trains at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, FL. Her husband is a boxer. She is 6-4 in the UFC. She's been in the UFC since 2015 and she's still on the early prelims. That doesn't seem like progress to me. Maryna beat Karine in a 2014 match for the XFC in Brazil. The broadcast made a big deal about this. It's a non factor. Karine is a different fighter today. They acknowledged that but then kept mentioning it. Karine was winning round one and then she applied a guillotine choke and Maryna tapped at 4:59 of round one. Certainly a finish right at the end of the round is unusual but I've seen it before. Karine said afterwards that she would like to fight on the Nov. 4 UFC show in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This hasn't been announced yet but some fights have already been announced for this show. I would like to see Karine fight a ranked fighter on that show. Enjoy the video!
