Here's the match video of Randa Markos vs Juliana Lima from last night's UFC show in Charlotte. Randa is from Windsor, ON but she trains in Detroit. She's a pretty good wrestler but she id error prone and that's why her record is spotty. Juliana is a terrible fighter. She doesn't even look good when she wins because stalling is her main offensive strategy. For that reason, the ref needs to be on his game. The main characteristic of round one was stalling on the fence. This is typical of Juliana but the ref wouldn't break them up. Eventually Randa got her down and pounded her so I scored round one 10-9 for Randa. It appears the ref learned his lesson in round two. Juliana was able to get top position. Lay 'n' Pray is one of her strategies to win fights. But the ref wouldn't allow it and he stood them up. Some fans thought it was a quick standup. I think it was a reaction to the round one stalling. Juliana will stall if the ref allows it. So Randa is up 20-18 and Juliana needs a finish. Of course that was never going to happen. So Randa won by unanimous decision. Randa said afterwards that she hurt her knee in training. My guess is she will need arthoscopic surgery for that. She also said she wants a top five ranked fighter. Maybe she should win a couple of fights in a row first. Check out the fight for yourself.
