Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Big Bad Blog Video Theater-Katlyn Chookagian vs Mara Romero Borella
Here's the match video of Katlyn Chookagian vs Mara Romero Borella from last night's UFC show in Charlotte, NC. This fight was at Flyweight. Katlyn was obviously undersized at Bantamweight so her drop to Flyweight was expected. Mara is from Italy but she trains at American Top Team in Florida. Jessica Aguilar was in her corner. She looked great in her UFC debut but her opponent was terrible. This was a terrible fight. Neither fighter looked good. I place most of the blame on Katlyn and her coach Mark Henry. She threw plenty of punches but most of them didn't land. She refused to get close enough. Mara was marginally better and that's why I scored the fight 29-28 in her favor. But I wasn't surprised the judges went the other way. A fight like this is very difficult for judges. It was three rounds of light sparring. The judging was not the problem. The only solution is for the ref to admonish the fighters to stop screwing around. But most refs won't do that but they are supposed to. I understand Katlyn's strategy. Instead of trying to win, she's trying to not lose. That strategy could have backfired on her. She was lucky it didn't. The flip side is it labels her as a boring points fighter. I don't subscribe to "a win is a win" because it's not true. A fight like this doesn't help anyone. check ot out for yourself.
