Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Paige VanZant vs Joanne Calderwood to headline Dec. 10 UFC show
This afternoon, Paige VanZant posted in Twitter that she has signed a new UFC contract and has her next fight lined up. Then it was reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN that Paige will face Joanne Calderwood Dec. 10 at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. This is one of three shows in three days that the UFC is running in Vegas. This show will air on UFC Fight Pass. Paige won her first three UFC fights maybe too easily to the point that a lot of us were questioning the quality of her opponents. Joanne is a significant step up in competition. But I think Paige is quicker than Joanne. Her strategy should be to take Joanne to the ground as Joanne is a kickboxer and has no ground game. This fight could very well be won in the clinch. If Joanne can land some knees, it could be trouble for Paige. The UFC has added another Strawweight bout on this show. Emily Kagan will face Kailin Curran. We haven't seen Emily since she looked terrible losing to Angela Hill at the TUF 20 Finale last December. Kailin lost her first two UFC fights. The first loss was to Paige. Then she was winning over Alex Chambers when Kailin got caught in an armbar. This could be one of those fights where the loser gets cut. But Kailin is only 22 years old so the UFC may think she has potential. She's probably better off in Invicta. Emily is 34 years old. I thought she might have been cut already. But she needs to perform better or she will be gone.
