Song:Just Another Day In Paradise
Album:Greatest Hits
Phil Vassar was a successful songwriter before he became a country music star. Just Another Day In Paradise was Vassar's first number one country hit in 2000. He was born May 28, 1964 in Lynchburg, VA. He learned to play piano while attending James Madison University and then he moved to Nashville to pursue a career in country music. Vassar signed a publishing deal with EMI and he wrote hits for Collin Raye, Jo Dee Messina, Tim McGraw and Alan Jackson. He was named ASCAP's Songwriter of the Year in 1999. Then he signed with Arista Nashville and producer Byron Gallimore who had success with Faith Hill and Tim McGraw among others. Vassar's first single Carlene reached #5 on the Country Singles chart. Then Just Another Day In Paradise was Vassar's first number one country hit. The album Phil Vassar was certified Gold. Vassar wrote Just Another Day In Paradise with Craig Wiseman who wrote hits for Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney and he is still writing hits today. Vassar recorded three albums for Arista. His other number one hit was In A Real Love in 2004. Vassar recorded two albums for Universal South that just weren't as successful as his earlier CDs. This budget comp covers Vassar's Artista recordings. Vassar left Universal in 2009 and signed with Rodeowave in 2011. He released three singles and a 2011 live CD. But he hasn't recorded a CD of new music in a while. He's currently on tour. Here's the video for Just Another Day In Paradise by Phil Vassar.
