Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Big Bad Blog Video Theater-Paige VanZant vs Alex Chambers
Here's the match video of Paige VanZant vs Alex Chambers from last night's UFC show in Las Vegas. Paige has the potential to be a big star because of her looks and charisma. I think a lot of the supposed experts have jumped the gun on her. They want her to get a title shot and she hasn't beaten anyone good yet. And I don't think Alex changes that. She doesn't belong in the UFC. In her last fight, she was losing when Kailin Curran made a stupid mistake and fell into an armbar. So Paige needed to be careful not to do the same thing. So her strategy courtesy of her trainer Martin Kampmann was to keep the fight standing. Paige did most of her damage in the clinch with knees and elbows. Alex tried to lure her to the ground but was unsuccessful. By the end of round one, Alex looked like she wanted to go home to Australia. She is currently training at American Top Team in Florida. It didn't get any better for Alex in round two. By the end of the round, I thought that maybe ref Big John McCarthy should have stopped the fight. He warned Alex between rounds. It was over quickly in round three when Paige went for a rear naked choke and then a slick transition to an armbar and the fight is over. It's a big win for Paige because it was on the main card of a PPV. But I think she needs stiffer competition. How about Randa Markos? And at age 36, maybe it's time for Alex to retire and take up her real profession as an astro physicist. She's not cutting it as a fighter. Enjoy the video!

Paige, needs a step up in competition just like you said Frank, Alex may really want to retire.I thought the ref was going to stop fight there at one point. She had no offense in the last two rounds, none from what I could see. I want to see more of Paige VanZant in the future. She should be interesting to watch. I want to see if she has the stuff to be a great fighter, or if she just has fluff.
