After making a big splash on the country charts with singles like Rock and a Hard Place, Bailey Zimmerman has released his debut album. I expect it to be a big seller and then we'll see how he does. He was born Jan. 27, 2000 in Louisville, IL His father owns a trucking business and a big country music fan. While working for a meat packer and Union Gas, Zimmerman worked on his music. Then he started posting music on Tik Tok. When his 2021 debut single Never Comin' Home reached the top 20 on Spotify, that got everyone's attention and Zimmerman signed with Elektra Records. The singles Fall in Love and Rock and a Hard Place were top five country hits. Rock and a Hard Place reached #10 on the Billboard Hot 100. So I knew about Zimmerman last year. But his debut album Religiously has just been released. So I was waiting for that. Zimmerman's music has a harder edge to it than a lot of the country music that is popular. Also, he is not working with Nashville music veterans. His producer Austin Shawn is having his first big success with Zimmerman. Zimmerman writes with unknowns. Most labels would have him work with veteran Nashville musicians. Maybe Elektra didn't want to mess with his sound. Zimmerman is currently on tour with Morgan Wallen. He's off to a good start.
