AccuRadio Song Of The City-Maverick City Music

Artist:Maverick City Music

Song:Jireh

Album:Old Church Basement

Maverick City Music is a group that straddles Gospel and Praise & Worship (P&W). The 2022 single Jireh was not only a Christian chart hit but it topped the Gospel chart. Maverick City Music started out as a series of songwriting camps organized in Atlanta by Tony Brown and Jonathan Jay. They decided to turn it into a record label in 2018. Since then they have released eleven albums and seven EPs. That's a lot of music. Jireh is from the 2021 album Old Church Basement. This is a collaborative album by Maverick City Music and Elevation Worship. Jireh features Chandler Moore and Naomi Raine of Maverick City Music. They also wrote the song with Steven Furtick and Chris Brown of Elevation Worship. Moore co-wrote most of the songs on the album. He attempted a solo career before joining Maverick City Music. Jireh topped the Gospel chart and was a top ten Christian hit. It was also nominated for a lot of awards. Brown says this was the first song written for the album. Jireh also appears on the expanded edition of the 2021 EP Jubilee. That is available as a digital download. Old Church Basement is available on CD. Maverick City Music's latest album was with Kirk Franklin on RCA Inspiration. It's called Kingdom Book One. Chandler Moore is again featured on this album. It makes me wonder how long he will stick around Maverick City Music. He could be a big Contemporary Gospel star. Because I really don't like P&W. This song is nine minutes long and it seems longer. Here's the video for Jireh by Maverick City Music.
