Meli'sa Morgan is a big voiced soul singer who had success on the R&B charts in the 80s. She may be best known for the single Love Changes that she recorded with Kashif. She was born Dec. 6, 1964 in Queens, NY. She grew up singing in church. Meli'sa started out as a background singer. She was in a couple of groups. Shades Of Love had a dance hit with Keep In Touch in 1982. There was also High Fashion who had an R&B hit with Feelin' Lucky Lately in 1982. High Fashion recorded two albums for Capitol. At the same time, Meli'sa sang backup for Melba Moore who was produced by Paul Laurence who had a deal with Capitol. She left High Fashion and signed with Capitol. Laurence was one of two producers who worked on Meli'sa's 1986 debut album Do Me Baby. Her cover of the Prince song Do Me Baby was produced by Laurence. It topped the R&B Singles chart and reached #46 on the Billboard Hot 100. Do You Still Love Me? was the second single. It reached #5 on the R&B Singles chart. Meli'sa wrote and produced that song with Lesette Wilson who had worked with smooth jazz trumpeter Tom Browne among others. The album Do Me Baby did OK. It has been released on CD by the R&B reissue label SoulMusic owned by the British label Cherry Red. Meli'sa continued to have success with her 1987 album Good Love featuring the hit Love Changes written and produced by Kashif. Her 1990 album The Lady In Me didn't do as well and she left Capitol. Since then Meli'sa has recorded occasionally. She appeared on an 2015 episode of the TVOne series Unsung. She still tours. She doesn't have a website anymore but she uses Twitter to promote her appearances. Here's the video for Do You Still Love Me? by Meli'sa Morgan.
