AccuRadio Song Of The Day-The Andrea True Connection

Artist:The Andrea True Connection
Song:More, More, More
Album:Summer Party: The Essential Collection

Andrea True was a porn star who lucked into one of the more memorable hits of the disco era despite the fact she couldn't sing or dance or anything. More, More, More was a top five hit in 1976. She was born Andrea Marie Truden July 26, 1943 in Nashville. As a teen, she moved to New York City to become famous. She sang in clubs and did bits in a couple of films like The Way We Were. Her friends were making a porn movie and she decided it would be good experience. She did about a dozen porn films in the mid 70s. Andrea was hired to go to Jamaica and film a commercial for a real estate company. While she was there, Jamaica imposed sanctions preventing foreigners from transferring money out of the country. So she decided to make a record. She contacted drummer Gregg Diamond who had a group called Five Dollar Shoes. He was also a session musician. He brought musicians to Jamaica and recorded an album. Remix pioneer Tom Moulton remixed More, More, More. Buddah Records at first released the song to clubs. But it became so popular that it crossed over to pop and reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. She recorded two albums for Buddah. Her music did OK in clubs but More, More, More was her only memorable song. You can get it on this 2CD various artists budget comp from Demon Records. After a third album failed, Andrea tried to return to porn but she was too old. And she had vocal cord surgery. So she couldn't sing anymore. She still got royalties from More, More, More. She eventually became a drug rehab counselor in Florida. Andrea True died on Nov. 7, 2011 at age 68. Here's The Andrea True Connection performing More, More, More on Musikladen in Germany 1976.

  1. One hell of a sexy song right there. I heard that on a radio station and could not believe they actually played that song. I love it and love Andrea True for singing it and being a porn star. Rest in Peace Andrea and thanks for all the memories.
