Japanese fans go nuts over potential RENA vs Erika Kamimura match

Erika Kamimura knocks RENA down
Today's SHOOT BOXING show at Korakuen Hall featured the return of two time S-Girls champ RENA. She was supposed to face a Korean fighter but the Korean contingent cancelled at the last minute. So SHOOT BOXING owner Takeshi Caesar put together an exhibition match with 18 year old kickboxer Erika Kamimura. She is the current WPMF & WMC World Women's Mini-Flyweight Champ. I want to emphasize this was not a real match. It was a one three minute round exhibition. Erika said she didn't want to do an exhibition at first but was talked into doing it. So it was mostly three minutes of sparring. Erika knocked RENA down once. And RENA attempted to throw Erika wearing ten ounce gloves. Good luck. Fans went nuts. I guess this was a dream match of sorts. Caesar said he would try to put a real match together between them. He said he was very impressed with Erika. The main issue is will it be under Shoot Boxing rules or standard kickboxing rules? Erika said she wants to do this as soon as possible. I don't like Shoot Boxing but I think the attention this match would get would be good for the women's fight business in Japan. Of course you don't want to forget about Ai Takahashi who won her match over Emi Fujino by TKO at 1:17 of round one.
