Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

JEWELS announces ROUGH STONE tournaments
JEWELS held a press conference today at the DEEP Gym in Tokyo to announce the main event of their Sept. 13 Shinjuku FACE show. The rest of the show will consist of first round matches in ROUGH STONE GP09. These tournaments are obviously similar to SMACKGIRL's Next Cinderella tournaments and are supposed to showcase young up and coming fighters. There will be four fighters in each tournament and the finals will be in December. The main event will be a 49kg match between veteran Misaki Takimoto and Korean Ham Seo Hee. Takimoto is looking to get back into the main event mix. Her record is 10-10-4 and her last fight was a win over Yukiko Seki on the May 16 JEWELS show. Ham is interesting because her surprise win over Hisae Watanabe in her debut led to matches against MIKU, Yuka Tsuji and her most recent loss to Megumi Fujii on the Apr. 25, 2008 SMACKGIRL show. But the real show will be the ROUGH STONE tournaments. the weight classes will be 48kg, 54kg and 60kg. The four participants in the 48kg tournament are Kikuyo Ishikawa, Asami Kodera, Misaki Fuuka (formerly Shinzaki Ozawa) and MIYAKO who I think is debuting. The 54kg tournament will have Mika Nagano, Rina Tomita and two more. The 60kg tournament will have Shizuka Sugiyama, pro wrestler Chihiro Oikawa and two more. Also appearing on this show and making her MMA debut is Ice Ribbon wrestler and actress Hikaru Shida. She will team with Mika Nagano and Fuuka at Nagano's Ice Ribbon debut on Aug. 23. So obviously she's been grappling training with Nagano. And JEWELS matchmaker Shigeru Saeki announced that Hisae Watanabe recently gave birth and should return at the December JEWELS show.
