One of the things I like to feature on the blog is songs that I call "orphans". Let's say you are a Jennifer Hudson fan and you have all her albums. She has only recorded three albums so there is no comp CD. You might also have the soundtrack for Dreamgirls because of course she won an Oscar. Think Like A Man is from the soundtrack of the 2012 film Think Like A Man based on the book by Steve Harvey. It was directed by Tim Story and stars Kevin Hart among others. The film did well enough at the box office that there was a 2014 sequel. The soundtrack album is fairly typical of the soundtracks for these kinds of films. You have various artists with Jennifer Hudson featured because she sang the title song. I haven't seen the film so I don't know where the song appears. But the soundtrack did well and Jennifer's single did chart though it wasn't a big hit. It's her final chart single to date. She probably did it to work with Ne-Yo and Rick Ross did a rap. The song was produced by Harmony Samuels who has also produced Ariane Grande among others. Think Like A Man only appears on the soundtrack CD and it does not appear on a Jennifer Hudson album. That's why I call it an orphan. Others who appear on the soundtrack include John Legend, Kelly Rowland and Keri Hilson. So it might be a good album for R&B fans.
