Here's the match video of Karolina Kowalkiewicz vs Felice Herrig from yesterday's UFC show in Las Vegas. This fight is at Strawweight. I joked to Schwan Humes on the podcast that this would be a loser leave town match as both fighters have fallen on hard times. Karolina is a former title contender on a five fight losing streak. After her last loss, she decided to make a change. Karolina has always trained with her husband in Poland. She asked Joanna Jedrzejczyk to get her into American Top Team. This is something she should have done years ago. We discussed it on the podcast. Felice is coming off of knee surgery. She trains with Jeff Curran and Mike Valle in Chicago. She said in interviews that if she loses, she leaves the UFC. Basically, she couldn't keep up with Karolina. And in round two, Karolina finished Felice with a rear naked choke. Going to ATT could get Karolina back into the title picture. And Felice retired as promised. I expect to see her in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships. Enjoy the video!
I am sadden for Felice Herring. She was from around here, Crystal Lake, Illinois and was a favorite of mine and others who would root for her. I remember seeing her on TV at a sports bar and the crowd cheered for her. At one time she looked promising Frank. Now, I guess she goes to Bare Knuckle or just leaves the fight scene altogether.
